DON'T PICK MY BRAIN: INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS
This seminar surveys the increasing importance of intellectual property as a means of production in our digital, global, market economy. Black intellectual property (IP) has been historically undervalued, and this workshop explores how Black cultures and communities have been impacted by the legacy of misappropriated IP rights. What barriers do Black creators face in securing their IP, how can these challenges be surmounted, and why is harnessing our IP a vital step in empowering vibrant, sustainable Black communities?
